Rectifier
A Rectifier is an electrical device that converts alternating current (AC), which is periodically reverse direction, to Direct current (DC), which is only in one direction and this process is known as rectification.
since the rectifier circuits use diodes to convert AC voltage to DC voltage, its also called a converter circuit.
All power that supplies to the modern factory is alternating current, so it is important to have a circuit that can convert ac power to dc power since most solid-state devices require a source of dc power to operate.
Types of Rectifier
1. Single Phase Rectifier
- Half-wave rectifier
- Full-wave rectifier
- Full-wave bridge rectifier
2. Three Phase Rectifier
- Three-phase,half-wave rectifier
- Three-phase,full-wave circuit using center-tapped transformer
We discuss all the types of rectifiers in the next upcoming article, for now, we cover up to circuit diagram of some types of rectifiers.
